Basically someone rewrote all the abort and reset code. It just needs rewriting again so it works. Right now we have old-scsi/new-ide for 2.4 and new-scsi/old-ide-somewhat borked for 2.5. The core reset code is now believed debugged so it should be possible to fix ide-scsi.
