The last message on the console is "NET: Registered protocol family 17", which is usually followed by "e1000: eth0 NIC Link is Up 100 Mbps Full Duplex". The same hardware works flawlessly with kernel 2.6.2. The motherboard uses the Intel 875P chipset and is equipped with a Pentium4 3.0 GHz CPU (HT enabled).
