Subject: [PATCH v2.6.34-rc5 08/12] cgroup: Fix an RCU warning in cgroup_path()
Date: Fri, 23 Apr 2010 12:43:26 -0700	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <1272051810-11249-8-git-send-email-paulmck@linux.vnet.ibm.com> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <20100423194255.GE2589@linux.vnet.ibm.com>

From: Li Zefan <lizf@cn.fujitsu.com>

with CONFIG_PROVE_RCU=y, a warning can be triggered:

  # mount -t cgroup -o debug xxx /mnt
  # cat /proc/$$/cgroup

...
kernel/cgroup.c:1649 invoked rcu_dereference_check() without protection!
...

This is a false-positive, because cgroup_path() can be called
with either rcu_read_lock() held or cgroup_mutex held.
