The feature flag/revision level fix is only in the current development version of e2fsck right now (1.20.WIP). Fortunately, the "error" is no more of a problem now than before the checking went into the kernel. All of the current feature flags are supported by the ext2 filesystem code, so it will continue to work just like it always did. The reason the checks were added is for features that may cause a real problem like ext3 journalling, or Tux2 which totally changes the layout of the filesystem. > Is there an easy way to change the rev of the fs, without a format and > restore? I would just wait until e2fsck 1.20 is released and it will fix this for you the next time it even looks at the filesystem. Unfortunately, the commands to change the revision field in the superblock is only in 1.20 as well, so once you get that far you may as well just let e2fsck fix it...
