   I'll test all this, but if you want, I can provide you with root on that
   machine, it's only a test-box for now, hooked up on one 100 Mbps and one
   1Gbps (that's the broadcom card).
   
It shouldn't be necessary. :)

   I'll report back with results within the hour :)
