Subject: oops report (or at least a try to make one)
Date: Wed, 17 Apr 2002 12:27:13 +0200 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20020417122713.404e0cdd.bzd@astercity.net> (raw)
hello.
lately i was getting a swapoff error during shutdown, i found out this is
actually kernel oops message. so i run it thru ksymoops, as said in docs.
unfortunately, i have no idea what to do with the output, i'm no hacker.
first i thought the reason could be that i use nvidia driver, as it gives
a warning about tainted kernel, but i used it for a while before on the
same machine/same kernel version, and there were no problems. also, this
error indicates it's kswapd issue.
since it's my first attempt to create oops report, i might missed things
that are needed for a good info. if so, please give me a chance, don't
ignore this mail.
this is ksymoops output i got:
ksymoops 2.4.5 on i686 2.4.19-r1. Options used
-V (default)
-k /proc/ksyms (default)
-l /proc/modules (default)
-o /lib/modules/2.4.19-r1/ (default)
-m /usr/src/linux/System.map (default)
Warning: You did not tell me where to find symbol information. I will
assume that the log matches the kernel and modules that are running
right now and I'll use the default options above for symbol resolution.
If the current kernel and/or modules do not match the log, you can get
more accurate output by telling me the kernel version and where to find
map, modules, ksyms etc. ksymoops -h explains the options.
