Hi, Here's a bug report. I've aldo attached my kernel config file. Thanks! Summary: -------- Laptop froze stiff 2 hrs after installing the new 2.4.19 Description: ------------ I compiled the new 2.4 19, using my old kernel .config file for 2.4.18. 2hrs after installing and running the new 2.4.19, my system froze stiff. At the moment of freezing I was running X with fluxbox as the win manager. I was also running Mozilla 1.0. I couldn't kill X or switch to a console: keyboard, mouse, nothing responded. It's the first time ever I see linux freeze like this. I had to do a cold boot to get the system running. There are no core dumps, nothing. I'm running RH 7.3 with ext3fs. Here's the relevant info, as suggested by http://kernel.org/pub/linux/docs/lkml/reporting-bugs.html Problem Keywords: ---------------- kernel Kernel Version: --------------- Linux version 2.4.19 (root@fiery) (gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.3 2.96-110)) #1 Sat Aug 3 18:11:15 EDT 2002 Machine type: ------------- IBM Thinkpad T22 26475EU Output of scripts/ver_linux: ---------------------------- Compare to the current minimal requirements in Documentation/Changes.
