Subject: [PATCH][RFC] add support for PC-9800 architecture (21/26) serial #2
Date: Thu, 17 Oct 2002 20:40:15 +0900	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20021017204015.A1271@precia.cinet.co.jp> (raw)

This is part 21/26 of patchset for add support NEC PC-9800 architecture,
against 2.5.43.

Summary:
New serial driver support for PC-9800 legacy serial port.
 This driver emulates 16550A.
This driver is based on 8250.c but heavily modified.

+ * A note about mapbase / membase
+ *
+ * mapbase is the physical address of the IO port. Currently, we don't
+ * support this very well, and it may well be dropped from this driver
+ * in future. As such, mapbase should be NULL.
+ *
+ * membase is an 'ioremapped' cookie. This is compatible with the old
+ * serial.c driver, and is currently the preferred form.
