Subject: Access to filesystem specific attr accross xattr calls
Date: Tue, 26 Nov 2002 18:08:38 +0100 (CET)	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20021126170838.60805.qmail@web40807.mail.yahoo.com> (raw)

I write a little patch that enable read write access
to msdos filesystem flags ( hidden ,system, archived).
I think it s a good idea but I need your opinion.

+
  - PAX system will restore ( save) this attr.
  - enable access to filesystem spec without ugly
iotcl (like ext2)
  -universal userspace access

-

  - kernel grow
  - user don't need this.

I don't write this to FAT maintener because I think it
s more general ( for instance in ext2fs for immutable
flag)

Thanks

PS : -I wrote first an incomplete mail send by error,
sorry for this mess.
-I release my patch next , after some test
