- VGA on ia64 is broken - the screen comes up blank.  But ia64 otherwise
  seems to work OK.  I didn't have time to investigate.

- Linus is out of town until the weekend - his net connectedness is
  uncertain.

- I dropped the old kgdb patch and picked up a new version for x86 only from
  kgdb.linsyssoft.com.  It works much better, but disagrees violently with
  gcc-4.2 for some reason.
