When I have sound play through my onboard sound card (but not my usb headset) while transfering files over the local network (typically it doesn't happen when downloading files over my T1 connection) the system will usually hang. This does not happen when I boot with only one CPU active. I tried getting a kernel dump, but the system seems to hang rather than crash and I can't get alt+sysrq+c to cause a crash once it is hung. (It does cause crashes that result in dumps if I do it before hanging the system.) I also tried using nmi_watchdog=1 and nmi_watchdog=2 and neither appeared to work. This is NOT new to the 2.6.38 kernel.
