Sorry for taking so long to notice that, but the documentation for platform_device_register_simple() says:

	"Returns &struct platform_device pointer on success, or ERR_PTR() on
error." So please use IS_ERR() for checking the platform_device pointer,
since a simple NULL-check is not enough. Thanks, Armin Wolf
