Subject: cmd649 ok 1 cpu, 2 cpus, not working
Date: Wed, 13 Feb 2002 23:41:04 +0800	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <3C6A890F.FF90C3BB@vtc.edu.hk> (raw)

Dear team,

I use cmd649 IDE cards with 1 CPU no problems (long term experience),
but with 2 CPUs, it has never worked with an ACER Altos 2-cpu system
(dual p-iii 800 MHz) with many different kernels, all the way from
2.4.10-acx to 2.4.18-pre9-ac2.
Here we have 2.4.18-pre9-ac2,

In this system, we have SCSI disks, and a cmd649 card with an
unrecognised disk attached to the primary.

Desperate to solve this. It is the departmental student server and I
only have ATA disks to solve the out of disk space problem. We have
over 1000 studnet accounts on this used daily.
