The 4th, 5th, and 6th parts are support code and not really part of the kernel. This part contains the user land library build code, change log, and readme stuff. There are two library stub generation bits, one for a shared library and one for an archive library. The archive library is arch neutral, the share is i386 only. The whole of this patch will create and populate the Documentation/high-res-timers/ directory. It , with the remaining parts, is very useful for testing correct functioning of the new system calls. It also contains a test program (performance.c) that will generate graph data for gnuplot showing interesting performance numbers WRT to large numbers timers. -- George Anzinger george@mvista.com High-res-timers: http://sourceforge.net/projects/high-res-timers/ Preemption patch: http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/rml
