Hello. Have recently begin seeing spurious crashes on a cpl of boxes. Fault is very intermittent but seems consistent that only machines with lots of either disk i/o or network i/o is affected and that the oops seem always to be "in interrupt". Will try to capture a crash on all different boxes, however it is very intermittent the fault shows itself and those are running production systems so can only try and be ready for the next crash. However, I have setup one box that I can trigger oopses within a cpl of hours of disk trashing, and this is data from one crash: Kernel: 2.6.1 System: Debian Woody with neccessary packages for 2.6.x GCC: gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease) Hardware: Dual AMD MP2200+, AMD760 chipset, Adaptec aacraid /Roger ----------------- Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address 00100104 printing eip: c036c5f9 *pde = 00000000 Oops: 0002 [#1] CPU: 0 EIP: 0060:[] Not tainted EFLAGS: 00010046 EIP is at aac_response_normal+0xb9/0x210 eax: 00100100 ebx: f7c09200 ecx: f7cf14bc edx: 00200200 esi: f7cf1488 edi: 00000001 ebp: 00000082 esp: c05abf28 ds: 007b es: 007b ss: 0068 Process swapper (pid: 0, threadinfo=c05aa000 task=c050abe0) Stack: f7d319d0 24000001 00000000 00000011 c05abf44 00000000 f7d319d0 f7fa2100 c036c9b2 f7d2ed80 f7d6a7e0 c010b101 00000011 f7d319d0 c05abfa0 c05aa000 c05a0080 c05aa000 c05abf98 c010b4a6 00000011 c05abfa0 f7d6a7e0 c05aa000 Call Trace: [] aac_rx_intr+0x82/0xd0 [] handle_IRQ_event+0x31/0x60 [] do_IRQ+0xc6/0x180 [] _stext+0x0/0x60 [] common_interrupt+0x18/0x20 [] _stext+0x0/0x60 [] default_idle+0x29/0x40 [] cpu_idle+0x36/0x50 [] _stext+0x55/0x60 [] start_kernel+0x160/0x170 Code: 89 50 04 89 02 c7 46 34 00 01 10 00 c7 41 04 00 02 20 00 8b <0>Kernel panic: Fatal exception in interrupt In interrupt handler - not syncing .......... from System map: ------- c036c0a0 T fib_complete c036c0f0 T aac_printf c036c150 t aac_handle_aif c036c170 T aac_command_thread c036c4c3 t .text.lock.commsup c036c540 T aac_response_normal c036c750 T aac_command_normal c036c8da t .text.lock.dpcsup c036c930 t aac_rx_intr c036ca00 t aac_rx_enable_interrupt c036ca40 t aac_rx_disable_interrupt c036ca80 t rx_sync_cmd c036cbb0 t aac_rx_interrupt_adapter c036cbd0 t aac_rx_notify_adapter c036cc50 t aac_rx_start_adapter c036ccc0 T aac_rx_init
