Hi, I get some tiny but nevertheless destastrous errors in following situation. (And no, Jeff, my cables are alright. ;-) SiI3112A chip on nforce2 board. Samsung 160 GB PATA drive on first connector via PATA->SATA convertor Samsung 80 GB SATA drive on second connector I copy two ~200MB big tgz archive from sdb to sda. I remount partition on sda and test files for integrity. Usually at least one of those fails. (The more files I copy the more files differ in tiny places. About 99% of the copy is OK, but those 1% is nevertheless not good...) I tested kernels 2.6.10-rc2, .9 and .7 and all show the same. I tested xfs and ext3, so it isn't fs related. Dmesg shows no problems. Same corruption occures if I have a raid0 partition as target. (I didn't try the opposite direction.) Now I reconnected the PATA drive to Nforce onboard ide controller (thus hda) and now the raid0 target works w/o probs, ie. no more corruption if I copy from sda to hda/sda raid0. I tried both sata cables and they are ok. The pata->sata converter is most probably ok, as well, as I used it long times and never had such issues. So the only thing left is, that (libata? I didn't try ide one) siimage driver doesn't like using both ports (at the same time?). Attached my .config. dmesg is of working system (with a patched kernel btw.
