I'm running 2.6.11-rc4, with 5 drives. I had the usual slew of hideous Promise IDE controller problems (Maxtor's rebranded 20269's, I think -- data corruption and dma errors), so I switched them to master and slaves on the VIA chipset and one drive on sata-via through a Silicon Image adapter. On large writes (i.e. copying several gigs of small files over samba), I sometimes hang reiserfs (/home below). It'll give some error in dmesg when that happens. I have no problem with XFS. The last time this happened, there was no corruption at all (reiserfsck was clean). Any way to test this better? I'll upgrade to 2.6.11 final today.
