The problem does not exist on 2.6.11 kernels, nor does it exist in windows. In newer kernels, 4 / 5 times, it will not work. I can no longer find an error in dmesg for this, so I have attached my entire dmesg log, along with my .config. I know that this is a lot to post to the list, but I have found absolutely no indication of an error in this log, maybe someone will see something I've missed. I am using a Shuttle FT61 motherboard. If you want to know more about what hardware is on that board, I can probably get that for you. I think this problem started around 2.6.12-rc5 or earlier, but I don't know for sure. Before that I was using 2.6.11 gentoo kernels and never had a problem. I've also tried 2.6.13-linus kernels on the same machine under debian and experienced the same problem. -- Michael Krufky
