Hello, I've got a kernel crash when trying to suspend to disk. This crash is 100% reproductible and is triggered only if CONFIG_DEBUG_INITDATA=y. Steps to reproduce: - Boot the system on runlevel 1 - Suspend to disk using "echo disk > /sys/power/state" I took some pictures of kernel output : http://laurent.riffard.free.fr/dsc02175a.jpg http://laurent.riffard.free.fr/dsc02176a.jpg http://laurent.riffard.free.fr/dsc02177a.jpg Here are some lines I hand-copied from these screenshots: BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address c0300000 printing eip: *pde = 1ff27163 *pte = 003000000 Oops: 0000 [#1] last sysfs file: /power/state modules linked in: reiserts via-agp agpgart dm-mod CPU: 0 EIP: 0060: [] Not tainted VLI EFLAGS: 00010012 (2.6.16-rc2-mm1 #97) EIP is at _mmx_memcpy+0x6a/0x12e eax: dfe4b000 ebx: 00001000 ecx: 0010010010 edx: c0300000 esi: c0300000 edi: decbc000 ebp: dfe4bec8 esp: dfe4beb4 ds: 007b es: 007b ss: 0068 Process sh (pid: 1162, threadinfo=dfe4b000 task=dfe5cab0) Stack: <0>decbc000 00000040 c02c1f80 de960ca8 0000194d dfe4bee8 c012d977 0001e69d dea11000 00000300 00000000 00000004 c02820d8 dfe4bef8 c022308a c012c808 00000000 dfe4bf04 c012cbba fffffff0 dfe4bf18 c012bc82 dee10000 dee10004 Call Trace: show_stack_loglv+0xaa/0xb5 show_registers+0x12/0x189 die+0x135/0x4fc do_page_fault+0x3bc/0x4fc error_code+0x4f/0x54 swsusp_save+0x1e6/0x25b swsusp_arch_suspend+0x2a/0x2c pn_suspend_disk+0x47/0xce enter_state+0x53/0x176 state_store+0x84/0x92 subsys_attr_store+0x20/0x25 sysfs_write_file+0xb2/0xd7 vfs-write+0x8a/0x133 sys_write+0x3b/0x60 sysenter_past_esp+0x54/0x75 I think the offending code line is "copy_data_pages(pagedir_nosave)" in swsusp_save(void) (kernel/power/snapshot.c).
