I added video=nvidiafb:nomtrr but it failed as before, just didn't print 
out the:

[  107.214820] nvidiafb: MTRR set to ON

I then removed frame buffer support, which is log-3, it got farther, but 
I've got something wrong with my root setup. I'll try to figure that out 
later.

Later this evening I'll look up the nvidia maintainer and see what might 
be wrong there.

And thanks for the info and your work on firescope, I'm sure it will be 
useful in the near future!
