Agreed. But those developers certainly have a claim upon their own time. Having spent a year working on the "wrong" project, I would have been much happier if someone had told me that the project was not "legitimate" compared to other projects. I was contributing to someone else under false pretenses. It certainly frustrated me and I would expect that others would have felt the same way.
