perf is not using kcore, which explains the errors.  Not sure why it prefers vmlinux.  It should effectively be doing:

perf script -i perf.data.after --itrace=e --kallsyms perf.data.after/kcore_dir/kallsyms

What is in the perf.data.after directory?
