Subject: 2.6.15 libata/sata_sil: not detecting my SATA dvd-drive.
Date: Tue, 17 Jan 2006 21:44:21 +0100	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <e0286e8f0601171244s1e49c0cfob01e4c7db4c006c4@mail.gmail.com> (raw)

In kernel 2.6.13.4, I'm able to acces my dvd-drive by changing these
lines in include/linux/libata.h

 #define ATA_ENABLE_ATAPI
 #define ATA_ENABLE_PATA
 #define ATAPI_ENABLE_DMADIR

 but after upgrading to 2.6.15, and using the libata.atapi_enabled=1
boot option, i can no longer access my dvd-drive.
 Instead i get this in my dmesg:

 sata_sil 0000:03:03.0: version 0.9

 I tried to google around, but with no luck.
 Can anyone here tell me what might be wrong or give me some clues
about where to look for answers?

 please CC me if you reply to the maillist.
