I don't know comedi well enough so I was worried about having ->attach_lock held over comedi_device_cancel_all() -> do_cancel() -> s->cancel() as that appears to be a new pattern. If you know this is fine, then yes by all means, we should just hold ->attach_lock over the whole thing and not need a detaching state. -- Jens Axboe
