Further ACPI woes with 2.4.0-prerelease

Just tried 2.4.0-prerelease on my workstation at work (hmm, totally new
meaning of "workstation"...).  It's a no-name dual Pentium-II (300) with
a Tyan Tiger 2 board.  Also i have "ACPI-aware OS" enabled in BIOS, the
kernel states:

  ACPI: System description tables not found

Any idea how to proceed? Obviously there should be some ACPI tables
somewhere.  Since this is my personal workstation (apart from being our
MP2 server as well) i can test at will.

Unfortunately there has been no update available for this board since
late 1999 (it's a i440LX board after all) and the board is discontinued.

I am currently browsing the web for ACPI and DMI tools to see if one of
them will give me some information from the ACPI/DMI tables.

I would check the Tyan pages for bios upgrades. I had to upgrade my bios
(gigabyte bxd dual cpu board) before w2k accepted the acpi tables.

Linux still refuses to accept the acpi tables :-(
