I get these errors with 2.4.20-ac1:

If people report IDE stuff I need to know the context, dmesg, controller
and drives.

I found these messages when grepping dmesg. Is that what you meant by

Ok thats fine. Eventually we can quieten down results from commands we
throw at the drive which we know it might not want.
