Without the second component implementing the process suspending , the 
"freeze in".  You probably should keep the down_write / up_write on  
(current->mm->mmap_sem) in elf_coredump().

When things settle down I would like to update that rather long comment block 
talking about no longer needing to grab the mmap_sem. You're spin on this 
work doesn't use my infamous "phantom run queue".

Thanks for your efforts to add this cool feature to the kernel :)
