Hi,
I can not compile vmware modules in kernel 2.6.3-mjb1
the compilation bomb wiht lot of error ; it can not
find out many header files, probably something changes
in the kernel build
system?
The vmmon modules I got from thi site
ftp://platan.vc.cvut.cz/pub/vmware/ version 51
(latest). vmnet compile
fine.
If you have any advice pls cc me. Thanks

It would be nice if you could post beginning of the compilation
messages. It uses simple
$(DRIVER_KO):
make -C $(BUILD_DIR) SUBDIRS=$$PWD SRCROOT=$$PWD/$(SRCROOT) modules
to start build, so I have no idea why it should break on your system.

The strange thing is in Makefile.kernel it has the
line
INCLUDE := -I$(SRCROOT)/include -I$(SRCROOT)/common
-I$(SRCROOT)/linux
I just extract the vmmon.tar from the vmware-any---
package and run make in the source dir. It works with
all vanila kernels and mm tree, but not with mjb1.

WTF? It prepends $(TOPDIR)/ to all include paths. I have
no idea what is this supposed to do, but I can guarantee
that I'm not going to support that kernel.

Maybe doing:
new1_c_flags = $(patsubst -I$(TOPDIR)//%,-I/%,$(c_flags:-I%=-I$(TOPDIR)/%))
would fix a problem.
