Hi all,

Today's linux-next tree is called next-20080428a. I had to add a commit
removing two top level localversion-.. files as they caused the creation
of utsrelease.h to fail. So if you fetched 20080428, please fetch the
new one.

Changes since next-20080424:

The HTC PASIC3 LED/DS1WM chip support has been fixed up.

The 'driver core: remove no longer used "struct class_device"' patch
breakage has been fixed.

Greg has given up the PCI tree. I will add the new one when it is ready.

Conflicts continue to disappear due to code being merged upstream. Also
several minor/whitespace conflicts have turned up due to merging slightly
different versions of patches than what is in the linux-next tree.

A new tree: sempahore-removal. This immediately caused a build problem -
patch applied an reported.

The conflict between the x86-latest and kvm trees has gone.

The firesat driver now builds ok, but the appleir has build problems and
has been reverted.

I am still carrying the PNP fixup patches.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have created today's linux-next tree at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/sfr/linux-next.git
(tar balls at
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/sfr/linux-next/).

You can see which trees have been included by looking in the Next/Trees
file in the source. There are also quilt-import.log and merge.log files
in the Next directory. Between each merge, the tree was built with
a ppc64_defconfig for powerpc and an allmodconfig for x86_64. After the
final fixups, it is also built with powerpc allnoconfig,
44x/ebony_defconfig and allyesconfig.

Below is a summary of the state of the merge.

We are up to 58 trees, more are welcome (even if they are currently
empty). Thanks to those who have contributed, and to those who haven't,
please do.

Status of my local build tests will be at
http://kisskb.ellerman.id.au/linux-next. If maintainers want to give
advice about cross compilers/configs that work, we are always open to add
more builds.

Thanks to Jan Dittmer for adding the linux-next tree to his build tests
at http://l4x.org/k/, the guys at http://test.kernel.org/ and Randy
Dunlap for doing many randconfig builds.

Cheers,
Stephen Rothwell sfr@canb.auug.org.au

Hi all,

The kernel.org mirroring is being very slow today.

Changes since 20110427:

Dropped tree: xen

The ux500-core tree gained a build failure so I used the version from
next-20110427.

I applied a patch to the net tree to fix a boot failuer on powerpc.

The bluetooth tree gained a conflict against Linus' tree and a build
failure so I used the version from next-20110427..

The sound-asoc tree gained a build failure so I used the version from
next-20110427.

The trivial tree lost its conflict.

The staging tree gained conflicts against Linus' tree.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have created today's linux-next tree at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/next/linux-next.git
(patches at http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/next/ ). If you
are tracking the linux-next tree using git, you should not use "git pull"
to do so as that will try to merge the new linux-next release with the
old one. You should use "git fetch" as mentioned in the FAQ on the wiki
(see below).

You can see which trees have been included by looking in the Next/Trees
file in the source. There are also quilt-import.log and merge.log files
in the Next directory. Between each merge, the tree was built with
a ppc64_defconfig for powerpc and an allmodconfig for x86_64. After the
final fixups (if any), it is also built with powerpc allnoconfig (32 and
64 bit), ppc44x_defconfig and allyesconfig (minus
CONFIG_PROFILE_ALL_BRANCHES - this fails its final link) and i386, sparc
and sparc64 defconfig. These builds also have
CONFIG_ENABLE_WARN_DEPRECATED, CONFIG_ENABLE_MUST_CHECK and
CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO disabled when necessary.

Below is a summary of the state of the merge.

We are up to 186 trees (counting Linus' and 28 trees of patches pending
for Linus' tree), more are welcome (even if they are currently empty).
Thanks to those who have contributed, and to those who haven't, please do.

Status of my local build tests will be at
http://kisskb.ellerman.id.au/linux-next . If maintainers want to give
advice about cross compilers/configs that work, we are always open to add
more builds.

Thanks to Randy Dunlap for doing many randconfig builds.

There is a wiki covering stuff to do with linux-next at
http://linux.f-seidel.de/linux-next/pmwiki/ . Thanks to Frank Seidel.

Hi all,

Changes since 20100427:

Removed tree: staging (replaced by staging-next)

Dropped trees: tmio-mmc (long unresolved conflicts and unable to fetch)
	hwlat (at the maintainer's request)

My fixes tree contains:
a patch for a pktcdvd build error from Arnd Bergmann

The v4l-dvb tree still has its build failure, so I used the version from
next-20100409.

The kvm tree still has its build failure for which I applied a patch.

The net lost its build failure and a conflict.

The block tree gained conflicts against the v9fs and mtd trees and a
build failure so I used the version from next-20100427.

The drm tree gained a conflict against Linus' tree.

The viafb tree lost its build failure.

I applied a patch to the tip tree for a boot failure on powerpc.

The bk-ioctl tree lost its conflicts.

The tty tree still has its build failure for which I reverted 2 commits.

The staging-next tree gained conflicts against the pcmcia, v4l-dvb and
staging.current trees.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have created today's linux-next tree at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/next/linux-next.git
(patches at http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/next/ ). If you
are tracking the linux-next tree using git, you should not use "git pull"
to do so as that will try to merge the new linux-next release with the
old one. You should use "git fetch" as mentioned in the FAQ on the wiki
(see below).

You can see which trees have been included by looking in the Next/Trees
file in the source. There are also quilt-import.log and merge.log files
in the Next directory. Between each merge, the tree was built with
a ppc64_defconfig for powerpc and an allmodconfig for x86_64. After the
final fixups (if any), it is also built with powerpc allnoconfig (32 and
64 bit), ppc44x_defconfig and allyesconfig (minus
CONFIG_PROFILE_ALL_BRANCHES - this fails its final link) and i386, sparc
and sparc64 defconfig. These builds also have
CONFIG_ENABLE_WARN_DEPRECATED, CONFIG_ENABLE_MUST_CHECK and
CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO disabled when necessary.

Below is a summary of the state of the merge.

We are up to 162 trees (counting Linus' and 22 trees of patches pending
for Linus' tree), more are welcome (even if they are currently empty).
Thanks to those who have contributed, and to those who haven't, please do.

Thanks to Jan Dittmer for adding the linux-next tree to his build tests
at http://l4x.org/k/ , the guys at http://test.kernel.org/ and Randy
Dunlap for doing many randconfig builds.

Hi all,

I have added a tree that contains only simple build fixes for Linus'
tree. It currently contains:

powerpc: fix for long standing bug noticed by gcc 4.4.0

This is just an experiment for now and I am not sure if I should push
these fixes directly to Linus ...

Changes since 20090424:

The acpi tree lost its build failure.

The ext4 tree gained a build failure so I used the version from
next-20090424.

The voltage tree gained a build failure so I reverted a commit.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have created today's linux-next tree at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/sfr/linux-next.git
(patches at
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/sfr/linux-next/). If you
are tracking the linux-next tree using git, you should not use "git pull"
to do so as that will try to merge the new linux-next release with the

CONFIG_PROFILE_ALL_BRANCHES) and i386, sparc and sparc64 defconfig.
These builds also have CONFIG_ENABLE_WARN_DEPRECATED,
CONFIG_ENABLE_MUST_CHECK and CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO disabled when necessary.

Below is a summary of the state of the merge.

We are up to 135 trees (counting Linus' and 18 trees of patches pending for
Linus' tree), more are welcome (even if they are currently empty).
Thanks to those who have contributed, and to those who haven't, please do.

Status of my local build tests will be at
http://kisskb.ellerman.id.au/linux-next . If maintainers want to give
advice about cross compilers/configs that work, we are always open to add
more builds.

Thanks to Jan Dittmer for adding the linux-next tree to his build tests

Dunlap for doing many randconfig builds.
