I assume you mean a MacBook Pro2.2 right?

I have a MacBook Pro2,1 with the latest firmware.
How much ram do you have installed? I am wondering
if this boot issue could be related to the fact
that I have 3GB installed. Also are you booting
the i386 or the x86_64 kernel?
