I see that I have lost the ability to use dkms.  All module build scripts 
are returning an error 5.  So I am stuck using the vesa graphics driver.

Comments anyone?

You should probably check with Dell:
see http://linux.dell.com/dkms/ and the mailing list that is listed there.
