Subject: Re: [PATCH v5 1/3] dt-bindings: phy: Add CIX Sky1 USB3 PHY
Date: Thu, 5 Nov 2026 01:18:17 +0000 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20261105011813.4058647-1-hongliang.yang@cixtech.com> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <20261104-grateful-chivalrous-cougar-ebe4ff@quoll>
You are right, the child node is not needed. The PHY block drives both
USB3 lanes with a single initialisation sequence, so there is no per-port
state to describe. v6 drops the usb-port child nodes: the parent node is
the provider with #phy-cells = <0>, and the driver exports one PHY
instance that both controllers share, with init/exit reference counted.
On the From field: the display name was non-ASCII ("Hongliang Yang
(杨宏亮)") while the Signed-off-by used the plain ASCII name. The message
was submitted through the corporate mail gateway, which replaced the
display name after git had generated it. v6 is sent directly with git
send-email and the From header is now identical to the Signed-off-by.
Thanks,
Hongliang
