Hi there!
I own a P4 with SIS 645DX-Chipset, so I tried kernel 2.6.0-test5-mm3 in
order to get a working IOAPIC mode with the SIS Chipset. When I boot the
kernel, everything is alright: IOAPIC is detected correctly, no error
messages as in 2.4.
But when I play some music on my machine, errors are appearing. At
first, I get: "APIC error on CPU0: 00(40)", and then "APIC error on
CPU0: 40(40)" which is repeated several times. After some time (ca. 10
minutes), following error appears:
------------><----------
irq 9: nobody cared!

Sound still works, but again "APIC error on CPU0: 40(40)" appears in dmesg.
If I use the boot param "pci=noacpi" then everything works fine, even sound.
Has anyone an idea, why I get this errors?
TIA,
Ruediger

Can you try this patch against 2.6.0-test5-mm3? PCI IRQ routing is
broken in some circumstances with ACPI.
thanks,
