Hi!
I'm experiencing some problems on 2.6.17 that I didn't have on 2.6.16, most
noticeable are the messages when alsa is loaded:

before this messages isapnp is initialiced without any problem with this
messages:
isapnp: Scanning for PnP cards...
pnp: SB audio device quirk - increasing port range
pnp: AWE32 quirk - adding two ports
isapnp: Card 'Creative SB AWE64 PnP'
isapnp: 1 Plug & Play card detected total
As I said this is only happening on 2.6.17 and not on 2.6.16, also some
programs still using the oss api are sounding really bad now (I noticed this
on skype, but not on kiax or mpg123).
Machine is a pentium III with a via apollo mvp3 chipset.
I don't know what else to add, don't hesitate to ask for any other details
or for any tests you'd like.

This has been addressed in Linus's current tree, via:

in drivers/pnp/resource.c.

These fixes should go to 2.6.17.x tree, right?
Then I'll prepare the patch for ALSA part...

Sorry, I missed your message, I have picked the patch from git and works as
expected.
I still have the audio problems with skype when using the oss interface, but
I have not been able to reproduce them with any other program, I guess this
could be either the alsa drivers (I tested 1.0.12rc1 but the result was the
same as with 1.0.11rc4 from 2.6.17) or even the libs (I'm using debian's sid
1.0.11-7), even though the problem happens when I use 2.6.17 and doesn't
happen if I use 2.6.16.
