Erm, Could the fact that you have config'ed for a P3 and not P4 play a role ?

Hi,

  Can you try latest 2.4-ac kernel. That has a patch to enable systems with more than 8 logical cpus. With that kernel, you should be able to boot with HT and without "noapic".
