Subject: [RFC PATCH for 4.15 06/14] Restartable sequences: wire up x86 32/64 system call
Date: Thu, 12 Oct 2017 19:03:18 -0400 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20171012230326.19984-7-mathieu.desnoyers@efficios.com> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <20171012230326.19984-1-mathieu.desnoyers@efficios.com>
Wire up the rseq system call on x86 32/64.
This provides an ABI improving the speed of a user-space getcpu
operation on x86 by removing the need to perform a function call, "lsl"
instruction, or system call on the fast path, as well as improving the
speed of user-space operations on per-cpu data.
