remove_id_store() can free a matching dynamic ID while VMBus is
preparing to invoke a driver probe. Copy the ID while holding the
dynamic ID lock so probe never receives a pointer into a freed list
entry.

And how can that be triggered?

Why is this driver allowed to handle dynamic ids at all? Is it really
required? That will taint the kernel so no real workflow requires it,
right?

No cc: stable?

Shouldn't this be a memcpy() as that's what you are really doing?

guard() usage instead?

On the stack?
Ok, I guess this would work, but it feels clunky, why doesn't all other
busses have to do this too?
thanks,
