Subject: [PATCH v4 17/25] accel/qda: Add remote memory mapping to the DSP address space
Date: Mon, 02 Nov 2026 03:51:30 +0530 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20261102-v4-v4-17-88f2f24a5f0b@qti.qualcomm.com> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <20261102-v4-v4-0-88f2f24a5f0b@qti.qualcomm.com>
From: Ekansh Gupta <ekangupt@qti.qualcomm.com>
The DSP can only touch memory it has been told about, so user space
needs a way to make a buffer visible to it ahead of time rather than
only per call.
Add an ioctl that maps a buffer, named by handle, into the DSP's address
space of the calling session and returns the address the DSP will use.
There are two flavours, selected by the request: a plain mapping of the
whole buffer, optionally at an address the caller suggests, and a
mapping of a region of it with caller-chosen attributes and a buffer
identifier the DSP tracks.
The length of the mapping is checked against the size of the buffer, so
a mapping cannot be described as larger than what backs it. Buffers are
looked up in the calling session's own handle table.
