Even after the patch I just sent, building with -Wundef still gets:

  CC drivers/char/mem.o
In file included from drivers/char/mem.c:15:
include/linux/ftape.h:168:7: warning: "CONFIG_FT_ALT_FDC" is not defined

#elif CONFIG_FT_ALT_FDC == 1  /* CONFIG_FT_MACH2 */

The sort of whoops that -Wundef was intended to catch.

Further research shows that it's spurious - there's no obvious
reason for mem.c to even include ftape.h (or tpquic02.h for that
matter) - compiles fine, even compared 'gcc -E' with and without.

Greetings folks.

I got it compiled and working on my box running 9.0 Redhat. However, there is one little problem. There seems to be lack of documenation regarding the security model that is added to 2.6 series Kernel and it is not found in the documenation section.

Anyone mind give me some urls links or pointers on 2 different areas regarding SELinux and Capabilities so I can see how it is used so I can learn from it and implement it into use for our production webservers boxes? I sure appreciate the help.

Hi Elikster

SELinux:
www.nsa.gov/selinux/

Capabilities:
According to
http://www.hsc.fr/ressources/presentations/linux2000/linux2000-6.html.en
these are obsolete.

Many OS theory books have small section on this topic

I have studied these but I just used google to find the urls

The POSIX draft was withdrawn, however the code is still functional.
2.6 Capabilities are the same as earlier kernels from a black-box
perspective. The internals are what changed.

thanks,
