Why? Could you please give insight into the new locking introduced here?
This new updated patch is presented as a drop-in replacement of
22/25 but then undoes significant (locking) portions of 21/25. Could you please
integrate these changes to not have one patch undo what an earlier one
does and support these changes with proper changelogs to help understand
what they do and why?
